  • Search  Use of an appropriate keywords make your search faster and produce clean and compact result. Mostly frequently used words in the english alphabet were not a part of the index created for abstract and title of each article, reducing lot of noise in the search. Words of length less than three are also inappropriate queries as they are not part of the search index.

  • Dead Links  Current release of the BLB database contains over 19000 hyperlinks associated with PubMed articles. Around 25% of these links are inactive. In these cases, header information of the manuscript is retreived and displayed in red color. BLB database allows users to update these dead links.

  • More Records  In a typical search result, the hyperlink associated with a study is hot for the title. In case of multiple links attached to the same manuscript, the whole set of URLS will be listed, along with the title of the abstract. The "More" link connects an article to its entire PubMed record and other related studies. The related studies are sorted out based on the index search score weight.

  • Author Search  Additional records are further hyperlinked with the authors of the particular study. These hotlinks leads to all the BLB aricles associated with the particular author in chronological order. Authors Search is a good method to check whether the hyperlinks connected to all your studies are still alive or not.

  • Co-Authors  The author search interface hyperlinks lists for all the co-authors of a particular author by hot links. This way you can simultaneously check out all studies performed by a group of collaborators and get a snapshot of their research interests.

  • Adding Novel Links  New hyperlinks can be added only if they correspond to the actual PubMed identifier. Obligatory tagging by PubMed ID makes BLB a trustworthy resource that limits the search to the peer-reviewed sources.
