Research Scientist/Statistician
Insurance Institute for Highway Safety

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, a nonprofit organization conducting multidisciplinary research, seeks a Research Scientist/Statistician to join our research program. Our organization is at the forefront of efforts to find effective means of decreasing the incidence and severity of motor vehicle crashes. Duties: Designing and conducting research projects and managing research performed by outside contractors; data collection; data analysis; evaluation of research literature; preparation of research reports; publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals; presentation of research findings to technical and nontechnical audiences.

Qualifications: Graduate degree in fields such as statistics, epidemiology, psychology, human factors, or transportation engineering; strong research design and analysis skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to conceive, design, and carry out research projects with minimal supervision; interest in solving real-world problems in collaboration with professionals from other disciplines; experience in highway safety is desirable.
