The projects are to be done in teams of either two or three people.
It is preferred that the teams include people with different academic backgrounds and interests, but this is not required.
The project should address a well-focused scientific problem.
The project must involve at least some software development (ideally, a lot of software development).
The project must be original for this class. That is, you cannot use a project from another class. You may, however, with the instructor's permission, work on a topic in the same general area that you have addressed in another class.
